Search History
We wanted to create visual search history for the user within the site. We were struggling with how to show the differences between places and hotels over time. After some debate we settled on a design that a toggle button with the icon to represent time in the button itself for use to switch between places and hotels.
Shortlisting and saving
One of the key features of Yonderbound was to let users shortlist and save their hotels whilst planning their holidays in a 'Yonderbox'. The shortlist could be shared with friends and family to help with the decision making process. The user could then also make their Yonderboxes public to help and inspire others in the travel community to plan their trips. Saving and commenting on the hotel tile made it have to work very hard with nearly 30 different state changes.
SEO & Partnerships
As a new product to the crowded travel market we advised Yonderbound to create an 'Explore' section to Yonderbound which grouped hotels from the most searched for locations to boost it's visibility in the search engine rankings. 80% of hotel bookings are searched for by location so we colourfully represented the top 10 most searched for locations. The Yonderbound founders are also greatly respected within the travel industry and had numerous contacts which could help Yonderbound in particular markets. We helped them create an experience and templates within the site to partner with the luxury travel brand Virtuoso
